Chuck Marsters began reading Science Fiction and Fantasy while attending Junior High School in Dallas, Oregon (yes, Oregon!). That fascination has remained strong throughout his life. He began writing in earnest in 1992 while working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His goal was to write a science fiction novel, and he completed its first draft while in the Middle East. After returning to the U.S. in 1996, he wrote two additional science fiction novels and attended four Science Fiction Novel Writing Workshops led by Science Fiction Grand Master James Gunn at the University of Kansas. During those years, Chuck was drawn to writing fantasy and began this novel.

During the past two years, he concentrated on honing his writing skills as well as finishing The Guardian and the FarCaller. This, Chuck’s first published novel, reflects his unusual perspective on fantasy and shows how it could exist and flourish in today’s world with no one the wiser. Chuck lives near St. Paul, Minnesota with his wife, Jeanie, his best critic. He is presently working on the second of the five Spoonworld novels.
